2.1 Account Data

When you create an account, we collect: email address, password (stored encrypted), name or display name (if provided), and authentication data from Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In if you use social login.

2.2 Birth Chart Data

To generate your personal astrology chart, we collect: date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth. This data is used exclusively to calculate your astrological chart and personalize your experience within STELLWAY. It is not shared with third parties.

2.3 Intention Data

The Intention feature allows you to optionally select up to 3 themes and add a short personal note (maximum 150 characters) to guide your reading. This input is entirely voluntary.

Intention data:

• Is used solely to personalize the astrological reading you receive in that session
• Is not stored in our database beyond the active session
• Is never shared with third parties
• Is never used for profiling, advertising, or any purpose other than generating your personal reading

You are responsible for the content you enter. Intention inputs must be used for genuine personal reflection only. STELLWAY reserves the right to suspend accounts where the Intention field is used to submit harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content.

2.4 Usage Data

We automatically collect: IP address, browser type and version, device type, pages visited and features used, date and time of access. This data is used to maintain security and performance of the service.

2.5 Payment Data

Payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. STELLWAY does not store your credit card number or bank account details. We receive from Stripe: your subscription status, tier, and transaction confirmation only.

We use your data to: create and manage your account, generate your personalized birth chart and interpretations, deliver features included in your subscription tier, enforce daily generation limits, process payments via Stripe, send transactional emails, improve technical performance, and comply with legal obligations.

Contract performance: processing birth and account data to provide the service.

Legitimate interests: usage data for security and performance.

Legal obligation: retaining transaction records as required by law.

Consent: for optional communications.

5.3 Anthropic (Interpretation Technology)

STELLWAY uses the Claude API provided by Anthropic, PBC (USA) to generate personalized astrological interpretations. When you request a reading, relevant astrological data — specifically planetary positions and house placements calculated from your birth data — as well as your optional intention text, are sent to Anthropic's API to generate your personalized reading.

We do not send your name, email address, birth date as a date, or any other directly identifying personal information to Anthropic. Only anonymized astrological calculation results are transmitted.

Anthropic does not use API data to train its models. This is contractually guaranteed under Anthropic's API Terms of Service. Data sent via the API is not used for any purpose beyond generating your reading.

Account and birth chart data: retained for the duration of your account and deleted within 30 days of account deletion upon request.

Payment records: retained for 10 years per Swiss accounting law.

Usage logs: retained for up to 90 days.

You may request deletion of your account at any time directly within the app under Profile. Account deletion is immediate and permanent.

Strictly necessary cookies: session and authentication tokens required for login.

Functional cookies: subscription status and preferences.

Optional analytics: aggregate usage understanding only, no individual profiles.

You can manage cookies via your browser or the cookie settings in the app.

You have the right to: access your data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion ("right to be forgotten"), restrict processing, receive your data in portable format, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time.

Our service providers (Supabase, Stripe) are headquartered in the United States. Transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

STELLWAY is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. Contact hi@stellway.app to report any such case.

We use: encrypted password storage (bcrypt), HTTPS for all data in transit, row-level database security, and access controls. In the event of a breach, we will notify you as required by law.

STELLWAY provides astrological content for orientation and entertainment purposes only. Content does not constitute advice of any kind. STELLWAY makes no predictions about future events.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. The current version is always at stellway.app/privacy.
